Blaine 20 Month Update

I've decided it was past time to do separate updates for the boys. I probably should have awhile ago.

So, Blainer Boy. This kid has been an absolute angel this month. We constantly talk about how cute and sweet he is. He seriously hardly fusses during the day and only loses it a bit if he's really tired, which happens around lunchtime these days because he's back to his early morning 6 AM rises. Not so fun.

He has become so friendly and will talk to anyone who listens in his cute voice. It often comes across as an urgent message at a loud volume with raises eye brows and body posture towards his subject. Way cute! He's perfect his phrase of "Here you go" and says it clear as a bell now. He loves to hand you things followed by this phrase. This can include both Dora and Diego. :) He's also become quite nurturing with his brother, giving Pierce drinks that he didn't necessarily ask for. But I appreciate his help in urging Pierce to stay hydrated. He was also seen trying to give Diego a paci recently. He's also very gentle and sweet with babies (mostly Rowan) who come over. He says "baby" and likes to pet their leg or arm. So sweet! He's become less anxious about separation and now walks right into church or the Y and starts playing.

He's really taken to building things lately and can put a whole, long train track together and also a long train to push on it. He also enjoys building towers, but does not like to see them fall down. He is excited about any kind of vehicle and especially loves fire trucks. His "wee-o-wee-o" siren noise has also been applied to all cars now. He loves puzzles and is really good at them if I may say so myself. He can even do the ones in the basement that only have the cutout shape without the matching picture. I was really impressed with that. He can do animal sounds for a cat, dog, sheep, cow, duck, monkey, and horse and still especially enjoys pointing them out in books. He's really begun focusing more while playing. Another impressive feat was when he opened a hot wheels car Abbey had given them. We told him who it was from and now every time he sees it he says "Aaaa-bbey!". Blew us away! He's also become that much more attached to Beary whom he lovingly calls B. B follows him all over the house and usually into the car, but that's where I usually draw the line outside of Nana's house. He'll play for a bit and then call his name, find him, and give him a big hug while patting Beary on the "back". We recently purchased another Beary online so we'd have a back up. Blaine would be lost without him!

Blaine remains a good eater and is usually willing to try whatever we give him. He's gotten pretty good with silverware. He still has a few things that he simply won't eat though. They are veggie sticks, applesauce, grapes, and apples. But he went through a couple week long love affair with bananas which he calls "na"s while pointing at them on the counter.

This past month has been so much fun with Blaine and we hope it continues! Love you, Blainer Boy!
